Esperanza was initiated in the year 2018, following my personal experience as a little child seeing many poor and vulnerable children living in the dusty streets, slums eating from the garbage disposal and sleeping in the cold each time I moved to town while going to church with parents I would meet the desperate faces of children. This caused me pain and unrest.
The passion was further escalated with my experience working in Buikwe with International Needs Network and also volunteering with Kelim Foundation in rural poor communities of Lugazi, Mutyana, Gomba and Luwero a region that was devastated by protracted bush war, which was characterized by abduction of women, children and youth, torture, rape, displacement, killings andd all sort of crimes against humanity.
being in contact with many suffering people with the reality of this pain and seeing them change and transform into peaceful and productive people in their communities, I developed a strong passion and belief that there is something I could do to help and I made up my mind that wherever I would be or go, I would do something to help the poor, vulnerable and needy to realize their full potentials for sustainable livelihoods.
its through this inspiration that I started Esperanza Foundation in May 2018 in a rural and poor community of greater Nebbi with its headquarters in Kampala, where we are currently supporting vulnerable children, youth through water, sanitation and hygiene, education, health, and life skill development for the youth.
My motivation and satisfaction is to see positive change and sustainable livelihoods among the communities. I would like to recogonize and a ppreciate Nebbi District Local Government leaders, department heads, political, religious/ opinion and community leaders, and the entire communities of Nebbi for the technical, ethical and spiritual support they have all rendered to esperanza foundation.
I would like to recognize and appreciate the contribution of Esperanza foundation Directors, Members and staff for always committing their time to selflessly serve the communities of Nebbi
