Where We Work

Esperanza Foundation works among the rural communities of Nebbi and Pakwach districts in West Nile sub region of Uganda. The respective district headquarters are located 427 and 375 kilometers by road, from the capital Kampala. Arua town, is the largest town in the sub-region and is located 77 and 122 northwest of the two district towns of Nebbi and Pakwach respectively. Nebbi district is bordered by Arua district to the north, Pakwach district to the east, Bulisa district to the southeast, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to the south and Zombo district to the west. Pakwach district was created out of Nebbi district and it became operational on 1st July 2018. With at least 76 percent of Uganda’s population living in rural areas and having very poor access to the basic services, the country is still far from achieving the global sustainable development goals. Esperanza Foundation therefore strives to supplement government’s efforts in achieving the sustainable development goals. Esperanza Foundation therefore supports transformative projects such as; emergency response, HIV, health, agriculture, water and sanitation, gender equity, education, microfinance, peace building, psycho social support.
